Session Description

Kickoff the conference with the first in our four-part AIDS 2020: Virtual Opening Series entitled ‘On the Red Sofa’. Each session features an interview on the future of HIV with influential policymakers, prominent voices and activists. This session will feature welcoming remarks from IAS President Anton Pozniak followed by a conversation between US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and US Congresswoman Barbara Lee.

Watch opening remarks from AIDS 2020: Virtual Local Co-Chair Monica Gandhi followed by an interview with UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima.
This Opening culminates with AIDS 2020: Virtual DAILY, the conference studio show in partnership with + Life, and a special interview with Dr Anthony Fauci.

Session Description

The third ‘On the Red Sofa’ session of the day, an AIDS 2020: Virtual Opening Series featuring an interview on the future of HIV with influential policymakers and advocates led by International Broadcaster James Chau. Hear opening remarks from AIDS 2020: Virtual Local Co-Chair Cynthia Carey-Grant followed by an interview with youth advocate Dany Stolbunov.
This Opening culminates with the unveiling of the final Profile in Resilience, and a special video message on resilience from The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
