Session Description:

The Product Theatre will happen during the AD/PD™ Conference 2024 and will last 30 minutes in total. Two renowned experts, Prof. Soeren Mattke and Prof. Alicia Algeciras-Schimnich, will answer some of the most burning questions concerning the use of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) diagnosis now that Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) for AD are available in the United States. Some of the topics covered during the event include healthcare system readiness, changes in the patient pathway, new hurdles and challenges, along with possible roles for CSF biomarker testing in streamlining the diagnostic process and increasing access to therapy. Prof. Soeren Mattke (renowned Health Economist and Director of the USC Brain Health Observatory at the University of Southern California) and Prof. Alicia Algeciras-Schimnich (esteemed professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and Co-director of the Clinical Immunoassay Laboratory at Mayo Clinic) will guide us through the current US scenario and will share some lessons learnt that might help their European colleagues to get ready for the approval of DMTs.
