Ms. Haseena P A is a PhD student at centre for brain research, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She is working on the project titled as “study of actin modulators at the synapse and their role in Alzheimer’s disease”. She is trying to investigate the synaptosomal actin interactome in wildtype and APP/PS1 mice and found out the critical role of PSD-95 association at the synapse with actin, AMPA and NMDA receptors. Prior to joining for PhD, She has worked as a junior research fellow at Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Kochi, where she was interested in studying low cost nanocomposite scaffolds for tissue regeneration. She has also worked as a project assistant at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in a project titled “the role nervous system regulation of innate immune responses in C. elegans. She has completed her master’s in Biotechnology and has a good academic record. She has also qualified the prestigious CSIR-Shyama Prasad Mukherjee fellowship and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Biotechnology.
