Dr.Sabrina B.Kitaka(MBChB;MMED;FPID;FUNAS;PhD) Is a Senior Lecturer and Specialist Paediatrician based at the Department of Paediatrics and Childhealth,School of Mecicine,Makerere University College of Health Sciences.She completed her MBChB in 1995;Masters of Paediatrics and Child Health in July 2002,both from Makerere University.Her Fellowship in Paediatrics Infectious Diseases was between 2003-2007 at the Infectious Diseases Institute,Makerere University and the Texas Children’s Hospital at the Baylor College of Medicine.She completed her PhD in July 2020 from the University of Antwerp,Belgium. She is a member of the Makerere University Grants Management Committee which manages the Resesearch and Innovation Fund from the Government of Uganda.She has participated in epidemilogical research and published more than 45 peer reviewed articles;she also does peer reviews for high impact journals including PLOS One,BMJ,AIDS & Behavior and AIDS Care.She has contributed to efforts that improve Adolescent health care and training in Uganda, East and Southern Africa Region and Globally over the past 20 years.She teaches HIV in Adolescents on the East African Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene supported by the London School of Tropical Medicine;and sits on various expert panels for the Ministry of Health in Uganda;WHO;UNICEF and the UNFPA .Dr.Kitaka is a distinguished member of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences.Her goal is to see every child and adolescent achieve their fullest potential.She has been involved in organizing various Scientific Conferences including the National Paediatrics HIV Meeting in Uganda;the Annual Scientific Conference for the Society of Adolescent Health(www.sahu.ug); the Annual Scientific Conference for the Uganda Society of Health Scientists and is the esteemed Co-Chair for the up coming INTEREST22 meeting due to be held in Kampala in May 2022.Dr.Sabrina Kitaka is the General Secretary of AFSPID

Dr Jon Klein is Associate Vice-chancellor for Research, the Savithri and Samuel Raj Professor of Pediatrics, and Executive Vice-head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine. Dr Klein is a specialist in adolescent medicine and health services research, known for his leadership and expertise in adolescent preventive services, tobacco control, and translation of research into practice and policy. Dr Klein joined the faculty at UIC in 2017, having spent 1992–2009 at the University of Rochester and 2009–17 as Associate Executive Director at the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is President-elect of the International Association for Adolescent Health and serves as treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Pediatric Association, and as Vice-chair of the accountability work-group of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

Sharon Kling is an emeritus associate professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), Stellenbosch University. She is a past president of the College of Paediatricians of South Africa and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Allergy Society of South Africa (ALLSA). She is a member of both the Clinical Ethics Committee at Tygerberg Hospital and the Undergraduate Research Ethics Committee of the FMHS. She holds an MPhil in Applied Ethics and her main research interest is in clinical ethics.

Professor Keith Klugman is the Director of the Pneumonia, Meningitis, Neonatal Sepsis and Antimicrobial Resistance Programs at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle WA. He is the Emeritus William H. Foege Chair of Global Health at the Hubert Department of Global Health, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. In addition, he serves as an Honorary Professor in the Respiratory and Meningeal Pathogens Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Professor Klugman is a past president of the International Society of Infectious Diseases; and a past chair of the International Board of the American Society for Microbiology. In 2015 Keith was elected to membership of the US National Academy of Medicine. He has chaired or served on numerous expert committees for the World Health Organization (WHO), the Welcome Trust and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He currently serves as an editor or member of the editorial advisory board of the journals Clinical Infectious Diseases, Emerging Infectious Diseases and MBio. Professor Klugman has made his major contributions in the field of pneumococcal research, including antimicrobial resistance. His work demonstrating pneumococcal conjugate vaccine efficacy in the developing world, has led to interventions that continue to save millions of lives especially in Africa and in Asia. He has published more than 600 scientific papers which have been cited more than 35,000 times to date. His current position allows him the opportunity to contribute to the mission of the Gates Foundation to reduce deaths from pneumonia, neonatal sepsis and meningitis in children, thus allowing them the chance to lead healthy and productive lives.
