Linxin Li is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Wolfson Centre for Prevention of Stroke and Dementia. Her main research interest lies in the area of clinical stroke epidemiology with particular focus on cryptogenic stroke, stroke in the young and time-trends of stroke incidence and outcome. She has also been using multimodal imaging techniques to investigate how traditional risk factors contribute to cerebrovascular disease.

Sook-Lei Liew is an Associate Professor and Director of the Neural Plasticity and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory at the University of Southern California. She has joint appointments in the divisions of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Neurology, and is a member of the USC Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute. She is the Chair of the ENIGMA Stroke Recovery Working Group, which aims to meta-analyze high-resolution brain imaging and behavioral outcomes in individuals after stroke from thousands of patients collected across more than 50 research cohorts from 10 countries worldwide. She also is a co-director and co-founder of the USC SMART-VR (SensoriMotor Assessment and Rehabilitation Training) Center (smartvr.usc.edu). The overall goal of Dr. Liew’s research is to understand mechanisms of neural plasticity in healthy individuals and individuals after neurological injury that support a person’s ability to learn new skills and recover from brain injury. She has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, given over 120 invited talks and conference presentations, and received over $4.5 million in funding from agencies such as the NIH, National Science Foundation, US Army, and American Heart Association.

Patrice Lindsay is currently the Director of Health Systems at the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canada. She leads strategic directions for evidence informed systems change in planning and delivering health services across the care continuum for individuals with a range of heart conditions, stroke and vascular cognitive impairment. She is senior editor of the Canadian Stroke Best Practice Recommendations leading clinical guideline development and quality monitoring initiatives. She is innovative in approaches to the active and meaningful inclusion of people with lived experience in all Heart & Stroke activities. Dr. Lindsay is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for her efforts to improve stroke care and outcomes in Canada and internationally and has recently been recognized as one of the World Stroke organization’s leading Women in Stroke. She has a degree in nursing from the University of Western Ontario, completed her PhD in Health Services Research, Evaluation and Outcomes at the University of Toronto, and sits on several national and international advisory committees and research collaborations.

Professor Liping Liu is Director of the Neurointensive Care Unit, Neurology and Stroke Center, Beijing Tiantan Hospital. She trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford Stroke Center, Stanford University Medical School. Prof. Liu has been engaged in clinical and basic research on the emergency treatment of cerebrovascular diseases and neurointensive care. Professor Liu is Chair of the Chinese Society of Critical Care for Stroke, Fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society, committee member of World Stroke Organization Committee and European Stroke Organization Committee, standing committee member of Chinese Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism, member of the Neurocritical Care Committee of Chinese Society of Neurology, and member of the Neurocritical Care Specialist Committee of China Neurologist Association. Professor Liu is an editorial board member for Stroke (as well as leading the Chinese edition), Neuroepidemiology, and Journal of Stroke. Prof. Liu is responsible for several research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China Natural Science Foundation, and Ministry of Education and Beijing Scientific Committee. Professor Liu has authored over 200 papers in scientific journals. She has also written numerous books and chapters on stroke and neurointensive care.
