Associate Professor Yongchai Nilanont is a stroke neurologist working in Siriraj Medical School, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. He finished his fellowship training in Cerebrovascular Disease from the University of Western Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre, Canada. He is a pioneer in mobile stroke unit development and implementation across 6 regions of Thailand. Trying to tackle the limitation of access to acute stroke care imaging, the lack of neurologist in remote areas and the delay of inter-hospital transfer, he initiates the Mobile Stroke Unit-Stroke One-Stop (MSU-SOS) project to improved prehospital stroke care in remote area of the country. His research interests include the area of prehospital stroke care, thrombolysis and stroke prevention.
