Dr. Jauch is Chief of System Research for the Mission Health System in Asheville, NC, and adjunct Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina, and Departments of Emergency Medicine and Neurology, University of North Carolina. Dr. Jauch is well known in the field of acute stroke research for the past 20 years and has over 180 publications. From 2013-2018, Dr. Jauch served as the Principal Investigator of the Southeast Collaborative Alliance for Stroke Trials (SE-CoAST) Regional Coordinating Center for the NIH StrokeNet network and continues to serve in oversight activities for ongoing NIH, Department of Defense, and industry-sponsored studies. Dr. Jauch served as Chair of the AHA Stroke Council, primary author for the 2013 Acute Ischemic Stroke guidelines and 2021 Recommendations for Regional Stroke Destination Plans in Rural, Suburban, and Urban Communities from the Prehospital Stroke System of Care Consensus Conference. He focuses on developing stroke systems of care at the regional, state, and national levels. Collectively Dr. Jauch’s efforts have focused on improving access to care, increasing the quality of acute stroke care, and educating the public and healthcare professionals on developing integrated stroke systems for care.
