Manuel Magalhães-Sant’Ana is EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law and researcher at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon, Portugal. His research interests include the teaching of animal welfare and ethics, and the regulation of the veterinary profession, including the development of a new Portuguese Veterinary Code of Conduct. He has been involved in developing telemedicine policies in Europe (with the FVE) and Portugal (with the OMV, Portuguese Veterinary Order).
