Tinika Gillespie DVN (NZ), Cert IV VN, Cert IV TAE, VTS (SAIM & ECC) Tinika Graduated from UNITEC 2001(NZ) with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. In 2002 -2005 she worked in the UK and Canada in referral, emergency, and general practices. Since then she has worked intermittently for UQ as a tutor and a veterinary nurse with a brief stint in Dublin, Ireland working in primary practice. From 2015-2019 Tinika worked The University of Queensland Veterinary Teaching Hospital as an anesthesia veterinary technician and now works as a casual tutor and veterinary nurse. In 2009, Tinika gained Veterinary Technician Specialization (VTS) in Small Animal Internal Medicine and in 2011 gained a VTS in Emergency and Critical Care. In 2015 Tinika was awarded the Best Technician Case Report at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium held in Washington DC. After 20 years in the veterinary field, Tinika is now studying occupational therapy, with an interest in pediatrics and mental health.
