C. Burrows

Colin Burrows is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine, Chief of Staff and Chair of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. A graduate of the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, Colin received a PhD in comparative medical sciences from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980 and joined the faculty at the University of Florida in that same year. He is the recipient of numerous international veterinary awards and is also a founder and former CEO of the North American Veterinary Community, currently the world’s largest veterinary conference. Colin is passionate about education for veterinary students and for veterinary practitioners, particularly those in developing countries. He has delivered continuing education presentations in more than 50 countries and is an honorary member of the British, Austrian and Russian Small Animal Veterinary Associations. He is also the recent recipient of a grant from the Rotary Foundation to support the work of Mission Rabies in India. He recently received an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal Veterinary College for his contributions to international veterinary medicine Colin served as President of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association from 2014-2016. In his spare time Colin enjoys Rotary, volunteers as a Master Gardener and tries to fish when the opportunity arises.
