M. Marcondes

Professor Mary Marcondes qualified as a Veterinarian from the University of São Paulo (USP), undertook a two-year Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Surgery at the same University, completed her MSc in Clinical Veterinary Science at São Paulo State University (UNESP), and her PhD in Clinical Veterinary Science at USP. She held postdoctoral positions at USP Medical School, studying visceral leishmaniasis, and at Dr. Janet Foley’s Laboratory in Infectious Disease, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. Mary worked in the School of Veterinary Medicine at UNESP, Araçatuba, São Paulo State, from 1992 to 2018, teaching small animal internal medicine and infectious diseases. Mary’s research interests include vector-borne and emerging infectious diseases and vaccinology. Currently she is a member of the WSAVA Vaccination Guidelines Group, the Co-Chair of the WSAVA Scientific Committee, a member of The African Small Companion Animal Network (AFSCAN) board, and a member of the Companion Vector-Borne Diseases (CVBD) World Forum.
