P. Larenza

Dr. Larenza Menzies qualified from La Plata Veterinary Faculty, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1994. After her graduation, she worked in private practice in Argentina and Italy. Between 2001 and 2004 she completed a doctorate (Dr. med. vet) and a residency in veterinary anesthesia at the Vetsuisse–Faculty of the University of Bern, Switzerland. She was awarded the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2005. Thereafter, Dr. Larenza Menzies transferred to the Anesthesia Section of the Equine Clinic at the Vetsuisse-Faculty in Zurich where she enrolled in a PhD program and dedicated to study the effects of S-ketamine in horses. She successfully passed her thesis defence in 2011. From 2007 until 2012, Dr. Larenza Menzies was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology and head of the Small Animal Anesthesia Service at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, USA. In 2013, Dr. Larenza Menzies joined the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Helsinki, Finland as an Assistant Professor - Tenure Track. From 2015 until 2020, Dr. Larenza Menzies was appointed as a Full Professor at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria. Currently, Dr. Larenza Menzies works as a worldwide freelance consultant in the area of veterinary anesthesia and analgesia. She lives in a farm in the state of Victoria, Australia with her husband, two children, cat and pony
