Philip R. Fox DVM, MSc, DACVIM and DECVIM (Cardiology), DACVECC Dr. Philip Fox is certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology), European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Companion Animal (Cardiology), and American Collagen of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He is Director of the Caspary Research Institute of the Animal Medical Center, Director of Educational Outreach, and Head of Cardiology. He received his DVM degree from the Ohio State University, completed an Internship in Medicine and Surgery, and Cardiology Residency Program at The Animal Medical Center in NY City. Dr. Fox has received numerous honors including the NYC VMA Award for Outstanding Contributions to Veterinary Medicine, TNAVC Speaker of the Year, The Ohio State University Distinguished Alumnus award, Award of Merit bestowed by the City of NY for work done with search and rescue dogs during 9/11, the ECVIM-Cardiology Lifetime Achievement Award, AVMA Council on Research/WINN Foundation Excellence Award for Feline Research, and NY City VMA Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Fox has contributed significantly to the scientific literature including 110 peer reviewed publications, 70 scientific abstracts and two cardiology textbooks. He is a popular speaker, has given more than 1,000 hours of clinical and scientific lectures, and more than 100 seminars internationally. Dr Fox’s research interests include feline and canine cardiomyopathies, diagnosis and management of congestive heart failure, evidence-based medicine and epidemiology, and cardiovascular pathology.
