Dr Hambling is a general practitioner with an interest in diabetes and is the current Chair of the Primary Care Diabetes Society. Working in Norfolk, in the East of England, Dr Hambling is the GP Clinical Lead for diabetes and the Co-clinical Lead for Protect NoW, an innovative project aimed at supporting the implementation of population health and care, and reducing health-care inequality. In addition to her local roles in diabetes, she sits on several clinical advisory groups, including for the National Pregnancy in Diabetes (NPID) Audit, and has recently contributed to the diabetes working group for the Centre for PeriOperative Care (CPOC), a cross-specialty collaboration dedicated to the promotion, advancement and development of perioperative care for the benefit of patients at all stages of their surgical journey.
