Fakenham Weight Management Practice
Dr Carly Hughes, FRCGP has been an NHS GP for over 26 years. She is also a World Obesity SCOPE accredited bariatric physician. She set up and currently works at the Fakenham Weight Management Service, a Tier 3 multidisciplinary service which has been awarded both the ASO and National Obesity Forum best practice awards. She is a World Obesity SCOPE National Fellow. She is an honorary lecturer at the University of East Anglia and works with the MRC Epidemiology Unit at Cambridge on the scalable behavioural weight management programmes for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes, funded by NIHR. Her research interests include weight maintenance, post bariatric surgery follow up, weight stigma and physical activity for health. She lectures nationally and internationally on weight related topics and has published over 25 papers on obesity related topics. Her other interests are women's health, especially the menopause and developing group consultations and online consultations and resources.
