Abstract

Objectives

The borderline personality disorder is a mental health condition that causes a lot of difficulties and unstable situation to the people to have it. This condition affects a lot of functional áreas as behavior, mood, cognition, attention and social interaction. It has association a lot of psychiatric comorbidity and severe consequences like suicide. The objective of this presentation will to explore the characteritics throughout life that can be associated with the development of this condition, in order that the different actors in mental health detect possible objectives to develop interventions that help in the prevention of several of the consequences associated, both in the individual and in their close environments and some early intervention strategies are sought

Methods

In this presentation it is a review of the literature in the mental health professional can detect from an early age those characteristics that are associated with the development of a borderline personality disorder and how they can make early interventions looking to modify the course of these symptoms.

Results

Conclusions

Borderline Personality Disorder is a chronic, limiting and a devastating mental health condition for both sufferers and those around them, with serious consequences, including suicide. An early detection of some of the characteristics associated with its development is of great importance to carry out and design interventions that allow modifying its course.
