Session Description
Recognizing tardive dyskinesia – what do psychiatrists need to know? Supported by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.

Session Description:

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a disorder characterized by involuntary, repetitive movements and emerges in over 25% of people receiving antipsychotic treatment.1 Despite high case numbers, TD is often underrecognized in clinical practice. During this virtual symposium, the importance of and challenges with identifying TD will be explored, as well as how to distinguish it from other movement disorders. The functional, social and psychosocial impact of TD will then be discussed, before the faculty delve into the role of the psychiatrist, with the help of AIMS, 2,3 in assessing and evaluating patients. There will also be an opportunity to submit your questions during the live Q&A session at the end of the plenary presentations. Please join us for what promises to be an engaging and informative symposium.
