Ruxandra Jurcut

Ruxandra Jurcut is a Professor of Cardiology and Coordinator at the Expert Center for Rare Cardiovascular Genetic Diseases, Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Prof.dr.C.C.Iliescu” UMF “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in 1999 and then received a PhD in Cardiology from the same institution therafter. From 2006 to 2007, she undertook a Master’s of Medical Imaging (Cardiac Imaging option) and was a Research Fellow at the Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium. She is currently Vice President of the Romanian Society of Cardiology and Chair of the Registree Subcommittee of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). Her fields of research interest include genetic cardiomyopathies, Imaging techniques for subclinical myocardial dysfunction detection, cardiac and vascular adaptation during normal and pathologic pregnancy and right ventricular function in different pathologies; pulmonary hypertension.
