Session description:
SLE is a heterogeneous disease. From the clinician’s perspective, optimal outcomes are generally considered to be remission or low disease activity (LDA). However, there is often a disconnect between the goals of therapy from a physician and patient perspective, which results in poor patient satisfaction with treatment. In this session, expert faculty will review appropriate goals for SLE therapy, and highlight the need for patient-centred care and shared decision-making in order to fully appreciate their patients’ needs, set appropriate goals and achieve optimal outcomes with effective therapy.
