Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Scottish HPV Reference Lab
Daniel Guerendiain is an associate clinical scientist at the Scottish Human Papillomavirus Reference Lab (SHPVRL). From his start in 2014, his main focus has been developing and evaluating molecular detection methods for HPV and other viral and bacterial pathogens. During his PhD at St Andrews University, he investigated the HPV positivity in different HPV-driven cancers in Scotland but mainly focused on anal lesions where he applied next generation sequencing (NGS) for HPV sub-lineage identification.
