WELCOME TO THE INTERACTIVE PROGRAM OF THE IGCS 2023 MEETING

The Japan Society of Gynecologic Oncology (JSGO) regional session will cover the current status and issues of cervical cancer screening in Japan. Currently, cervical cancer screening in Japan is a biennial cervical cytology for women aged 20 years or older. Some countries, including Europe, have started HPV primary screening as a nationally organized screening. This presentation will discuss issues that need to be resolved when considering the future introduction of HPV testing in Japan. Abdominal nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy Based on operative findings as well as a cadaver study, we have devised a method of extended nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy to maximize autonomic nerve preservation without compromising the radicality. This technique has been shown to be effective even in cases with parametrium invasion. I would like to explain the results of this technique and the method. Immunotherapy for cervical cancer is coming of age. We review the mechanisms of the immune system of cervical cancer and the key clinical trials and present the perspectives of immunotherapies for cervical cancer.
