Samuel J. Asirvatham, United States of America

Dr. Samuel Asirvatham is a Consultant Electrophysiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Anatomy. He is also Program Director for the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Program. He is the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory and Vice Chair for Innovation in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Asirvatham’s research interests include developing novel solutions to treat neurocardiogenic syncope, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. He has developed a translational technology that uses cardiac electrophysiology techniques to manage pain and treat epilepsy. Other interests include percutaneous approaches for complex congenital heart disease ablation and epicardial left atrial appendage ligation.
