Stefan Marlovits is Professor of Traumatology and Sports Orthopaedics at the Medical University of Vienna. During his career he has been involved in most major activities of trauma surgery; orthopaedics and sports medicine. He is experienced in the treatment of major orthopaedic trauma and has great experience in arthroscopic procedures especially in the knee. The main focuses are mini-invasive techniques especially for the treatment of joints disorders; cartilage regeneration; meniscus surgery; ligaments reconstructions and bio-surgical procedures. He was the Head of Research at the Department of Traumatology at the Medical University of Vienna. He has worked extensively in the area of biological cartilage repair procedures and has published extensively in this field. A special milestone in his work was the development and description of the MOCART score for the evaluation of the cartilage repair tissue with magnetic resonance imaging. He is a member of different national and international scientific societies and currently Head of the Cartilage Repair Center in Vienna.
