N. Segal (Kansas City, US)
University of Kansas Rehabilitation MedicineMy clinical practice involves the use of ultrasound and other imaging modalities to serve patients with musculoskeletal problems.
There are three arms to my research program. One uses diagnostic imaging to identify specific biomechanical factors which predict who will develop painful knee osteoarthritis in the future so that preventive interventions can be designed.
Another involves use of rehabilitation programs to improve mobility in people with knee osteoarthritis.
The third is aimed at reducing risk for musculoskeletal problems that occur following pregnancy. The long-term goals of my research program are to reduce risk for disablement due to knee osteoarthritis and other lower limb musculoskeletal problems.
