Mark is the Deputy Division Director for Food Economics Data at the Economic Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture. The research program of the Food Economics Division focuses on the economics of consumer food choices, food policy, and food market and price dynamics. The program covers a wide array of topical issues on the welfare of American consumers, particularly that of low-income households. Mark is currently working on projects related to improving the data infrastructure for food and nutrition policy research, and on the division’s new data and research effort, the National Household Food Acquisition and Purchase Survey (FoodAPS).
