Dr. Lena Kuhn is a postdoctoral researcher at Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Germany. In 2017, she obtained a PhD degree from the Faculty of Law and Economics of Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg for an analysis of the anti-poverty effect of income transfer in rural China. Her current research focuses on sustainable agriculture and the resilience of Chinese smallholders to climatic, demographic and structural changes, specifically through social and agricultural insurance markets. Since 2016, she coordinates the work of the China International Research Group at IAMO and is coordinator of the project Klimalez: Increasing climate resilience via agricultural insurance.
