Tekalign Gutu Sakketa

Dr. Tekalign Sakketa is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn, Germany. From 2012-2013 he was employed as a Research Officer at International Food Policy Research Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Previously he was an Assistant Researcher at the Oromia Agricultural Research Institute in Ethiopia. Dr. Sakketa holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Bonn, an Advanced Master in Globalization and Development from the University of Antwerp and Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University.

the motivation of farmers that is induced by the performance of others plays an important role in the adoption of agricultural technologies. Investing in lead farmers can offer role models for farmers to aspire to and show them how to utilize the available resources to improve their livelihoods.
