Session Description
The “WWN/IBRO GLOBAL COLLABORATIONS, FUNCTIONAL RESEARCH NETWORKS, AND FUNDING WORKSHOP” program will be divided into two components: 1. First, a 1-hour Funding Workshop where the speakers will discuss strategies to: establish global partnerships and collaborations, identify funding sources for international collaborations and fellowships, leverage seed research grants from foundations/advocacy groups, provide tips for successful grant writing strategies and peer review process. 2. Second, a 1-hour Mentoring and Networking Circle where attendees will join WWN members led mentoring circles focused on a variety of topics ranging from “establishing fruitful collaborations”; “developing a successful research team”; “the art of negotiation”; “building consensus”; “work/life balance”; and “implicit bias and research funding”.
