Dr. Rankin is an Assistant Professor in the Departments if Radiation Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University. She obtained her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in Cancer Biology in 2007 and joined Dr. Amato Giaccia's group at Stanford for her postdoctoral work. In 2015, Dr. Rankin started her independent lab at Stanford focused on developing targeted therapies that can be utilized in combination with chemotherapy or radiation therapy to improve response rates in patients with advanced disease. Dr. Rankin formed a collaboration with Dr. Bill Loo at Stanford to investigate the efficacy and safety of FLASH irradiation for the treatment of metastatic ovarian cancer.

Judith Reindl studied physics together with radiation and tumor biology at the LMU in Munich, which she finished with the Master of Science degree in 2012. In 2017 she got her PhD with honors in radiation biophysics at the Universität der Bundeswehr in Munich. Since 2019 she holds a professorship in the topic of biomedical radiation physics at the same university. One of her main research interests is in developing new tumor therapy approaches using protons and heavy ions.
