Abstract

Objectives: To analyze the relationship between chronic comorbidities and moderate or severe depression in climacteric women who suffered violence at any stage of life.
Methods: Cross-sectional study, women between 40 and 65 years of age, who suffered any nature of violence at any stage of life, who demanded the outpatient clinic Women's Health in Vulnerable Situation of the Hospital das Clínicas of the School of Medicine of USP between 2019-2020. A 110 women participated. The \"Beck Depression Scale\" (DBI- 2012) was applied as an instrument. Regarding mental health, 87 Women without depression or mild depression were divided into Group 1. Group 2: 23 Women with moderate or severe depression. An association was made between Group 2 and 23 types of common comorbidities in the total sample. In the statistical analysis, fisher's exact test with significance was α= 0.05.
Results: The associations between women with moderate or severe depression and comorbidities were statistically significant: Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatic disease, Varicose veins in the lower limbs and kidney problems. Those who suffered psychological violence, the association between Fibromyology and Depression was statistically significant. The relationship between Physical Violence and Fibromyalgia was statistically significant. In the racial section, the white race presented a higher frequency of sexual violence.
Conclusions: Women with moderate/severe depression have a statistically significant association with diabetes, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, rheumatic disease, kidney problems, and lower lower-lower-son varicose veins. The white race dominated among those who suffered sexual violence.
