Kathryn M. Edwards, MD, is a professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. An internationally-recognized expert in vaccinology, she focuses on the evaluation of vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases in adults and children. Having spent much of her career researching the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, Dr. Edwards has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in the fields of pertussis, pneumococcus, and influenza. Her clinical interests include recurrent fever, periodic fever, adverse events after vaccination and vaccine benefits.
