Matjaž Homan is an Associated Professor at the Medical Faculty in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Having received his medical degree at Ljubljana Medical Faculty in 1996, Dr. Homan undertook his training in paediatrics at University Children's Hospital in Ljubljana, receiving his certificate in 2004. He was trained at Children Hospital of Philadelphia, USA in 2005 and at Birmingham Children Hospital, GB in 2007. In Zagreb, at Medical University in Croatia, he received master's degree in 2004. Five years later he became PhD in Education at Medical Faculty in Ljubljana He was visiting professor in 2014 at Boston’s Children Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, and visiting professor at 2017 at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Institute of Child Health, in London. His ongoing research interests involve the application of evidence-based medicine in digestive diseases, particularly to study endoscopy, Helicobacter pylori infection and eosinophilic esophagitis in children.
