Dr. Bożena Agata Adamkiewicz is a graduate of the Medical Academy in Lodz, from where she graduated from in 1995. In 2003, she obtained a doctorate in medical sciences in the field of neurology. In 2005, she obtained a specialization in the field of neurology. Currently, she is the Head of the Regional Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Stroke at Multidisciplinary Center of Oncology and Traumatology in Lodz, a regional consultant in the field of neurology for the Lodz Province, a member of the National Examination Commission, a member of the Polish Neurological Society and a member of the Board of the Lodz Branch of the Polish Neurological Society. She is the author of articles devoted primarily to vascular diseases as well as case reports. She is the main initiator of the creation of a stroke team in the Lodz Voivodship dealing with invasive treatment of ischemic strokes with the use of mechanical thrombectomy, the organizer of training courses for neurologists and emergency medical teams in the field of strokes. She received the Diamond Status Award granted by European Stroke Organization and the Angels Initiative for the best stroke units in the world and in Europe.
