Angelo Vacca is a professor of internal medicine at the University of Bari Aldo Moro Medical School, where he is also Vice-Rector, President of the Telemedicine Research Centre and laboratory head in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology. Professor Vacca received his PhD in clinical immunology in 1989 at the University of Bari Aldo Moro then continued on to a post-graduate internal medicine residency. His main research interests lie in preclinical and clinical research in onco-haematology and immunology, with a special focus on multiple myeloma and the study of the bone marrow microenvironment in myeloma progression, particularly disease evolution during the switch from smouldering to multiple myeloma.
