Sarita’s interest in PIDs sparked when she worked in a clinical trials centre. The centre conducted several trials with vaccinations. The rationale behind why some people would respond, and some didn’t, fascinated her and she wanted to know why, then a position became available in clinical Immunology and the rest is history…. Sarita’s role at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust UK (RFH) is 50% Clinical and 50% Research in the specialism of Clinical Immunology, and she has been working in the Immunology department RFH for 18 years. Sarita has a master’s degree in Clinical Research and successfully passed her advanced assessment course and is an Independent Prescriber. Sarita has developed and grown the Immunology Advanced Nurse clinics and service which includes an ever-growing specialist telephone secondary Immunodeficiency clinic. Sarita is also responsible for the organisation and coordination of the majority of the research projects within the Immunology Department also assisting with many research collaborations being an author and contributor on many manuscripts. Sarita is the affiliated member of the INGID Board, Member of the IPIC organising committee and Member of World PI Week steering Committee as well as being part of the UK PIN national Nurses Guidelines Committee.
