Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies Unit
Pediatric immunologist and specialist in pediatric infectious diseases and head of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunodeficiencies Unit at Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He is the Director of the Jeffrey Modell Diagnostic and Research Center for Primary Immunodeficiencies (Barcelona) and the local coordinator of the European Reference Network for Immunodeficiencies (ERN-RITA) site in Barcelona. As the head of the Group of Infection in Immunocompromised Children at Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, his main research lines are the diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiencies and the optimization of pharmacokinetic parameters of anti-infectives in pediatrics. In the latter, he is currently leading a Pioneer Pediatric Antibiotic Stewardship Program (PROA-NEN) He has participated to date in 35 national and international projects, and authors more than 200 publications in journals indexed with an h-index of 25, and more than 200 communications in national and international scientific meetings. Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) since 2010.Director of the Master in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the UAB. Professor of the Master in Immunology at Universitat de Barcelona (UB)-UAB. Director of 8 doctoral thesis. Other skills: Paediatric expert at European Medicines Agency (EMA).
