Physician-Scientist, Adjunct Professor Mikko R. J. Seppänen, MD, PhD, Specialist in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, has more than 25 years of clinical experience in inborn errors of immunity. He currently works as the Head of Pediatric Research at New Children's Hospital and and Chief of Rare Disease Center at HUS Helsinki University Hospital, Finland. He also serves as the Chair of Doctoral Committee at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. He is the PI of a translational FINPIDD national study on IEI, and together with his group and collaborators has participated in the discovery of over 10 novel genetic or phenotypic IEIs, many of which manifest also autoinflammatory phenomena. He is a member of IUIS IEI Expert Group and ClinGen IEI CDWG Executive Committee. He ends his term as the Chair of ESID Registry during this meeting.
