Dr Marisa Casanova Dias is a clinical academic psychiatrist at Cardiff University. She was awarded an MRC (Medical Research Council) Clinical Research Training Fellowship to pursue a PhD to study bipolar disorder in the perinatal period, which she combines with being an honorary consultant. Marisa was seconded to the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology where she worked on a policy briefing on the Mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has worked at King’s College London, researching women’s mental health and contributing to the Policy Research Unit work. Marisa trained at the Maudsley and University College London schemes and holds an MSc in Psychiatric Research from University College London. During her training, she was awarded a year-long leadership fellowship at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), where she contributed to the Bipolar Guideline. She is a past president of the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT) and set up the EFPT Exchange Programme. She is a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Vice-President of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) Section of Psychiatry, and Secretary of the European Psychiatric Association’s Section on Women’s Mental Health.

Stynke Castelein is professor of recovery from severe mental illness at the University of Groningen, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences and head of the research department at Lentis Psychiatric Institute, Groningen, The Netherlands. Her research focuses on clinical, societal and personal recovery in people with severe mental illness, especially psychotic disorders. She is board member of the Dutch Quality Alliance for Mental Health (AKWAGGz), participates in guideline development and co-authored the Dutch Guideline for Schizophrenia (2005 and 2012) and the Clinical Care Standard for Psychosis (2017). She is secretary of the European Network for Mental Health Service Evaluation (ENMESH).

Águeda Castro is a predoctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona and a member of the 08 group of the Network Centre for Biomedical Research in Mental Health (CIBER of Mental Health, CIBERSAM). She obtained her degree in Biotechnology (2017) in the University of Valencia and her Master in Neuroscience (2018) at the University of Barcelona. Her PhD is focused on analyzing the endocrine and immune system alterations of pregnant women exposed to psychosocial and biological stress, the associated placental epigenetic signatures and the consequences in early infant neurodevelopment and emotional regulation.

Dr Matteo Cella is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and a Clinical Psychologist for the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His research focuses on psychological interventions for people with psychosis, particularly targeting cognition, social cognition and negative symptoms. This interest expands to the area of early intervention and includes the systematic evaluation of interventions and the assessment of moderators and mediators to improve treatment personalisation. Matteo’s research also evaluates the use of digital technologies including wearables devices, mobile phones and virtual reality to improve assessment and interventions for mental health conditions.
