Dr Carmen Moreno (MD, PhD) is a Child and Adult Psychiatrist at the Hospital Gregorio Marañón (Madrid, Spain) and is Associate Professor at Complutense University of Madrid Faculty of Medicine (Madrid, Spain). Dr Moreno completed her MD and PhD degrees at Autónoma University of Madrid and Complutense University of Madrid (Madrid, Spain), followed by a Research Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute (New York, NY, USA). Dr Moreno focusses on severe early-onset psychotic and affective disorders. She is involved in multinational research projects exploring key biological aspects of first-episode psychotic disorders, including multimodal neuroimaging, intermediate mechanisms such as inflammation and oxidative stress, and metabolomics. She has served as a consultant for the European Medicines Agency, and currently serves as co-Chair of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) Child and Adolescent Neuropsychopharmacology Network and the European Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychopharmacology Network. Dr Moreno has published over 70 peer-reviewed original publications and book chapters. She has participated in more than 25 research projects, including seven with European Union funding. She has been awarded the ECNP Fellowship Award, and the Award for Young Scientists and Senior Scientists from the Spanish Association of Biological Psychiatry.
