Judit Simon MD (Hons), BA, BSc, MSc, DPhil, FFPH Judit Simon is Professor of Health Economics, Head of Department, Deputy Head of Center and Coordinator of the Doctoral Programme Public Health at the Department of Health Economics, Center for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna in Austria. Previously she held positions at the LSE, UCL and University of Oxford where she remains Visiting Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Research Associate at HERC. She has a multidisciplinary background in medicine, health economics and public health. She is Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health through Distinction, founding board member of the ISPOR Austria Chapter, sits on the advisory boards of Statistics Austria and the Austrian Public Health Institute, and member of the ASPHER COVID-19 Task Force. Her main expertise includes methodological and applied health economic evaluation research, (capability) outcome studies, cost/cost-of-illness analyses, health services and systems research, clinical guideline development, and evidence synthesis. Her research projects funded by the ECNP, EU, FWF, LBG, MRC, NIHR and the WHO lie in the fields of mental health, public health, personalized cancer care and end-of-life care. She coordinates the EU H2020 PECUNIA project to develop improved methods for (mental) health economic evaluations and leads the Health Economics Programme Line at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Applied Diagnostics.
