Reinhard Strametz has studied medicine at Goethe-University Frankfurt and economics at FernUniversität Hagen. He worked for 8 years in the department of anesthesiology, intensive care medicine and pain therapy at Frankfurt University Hospital to become anesthesiologist and is specialized in medical quality management, risk management and emergency medicine. He was medical head of quality management at Frankfurt University Hospital leading the hospital to a comprehensive successfully ISO 9001 certified quality management system. He is member of international committees on qualiy and risk mangement, general secretary of German Coalition for Patient Safety (APS) and vice chair of the European Researchers' Network Working on Second Victims (ERNST group).
