Prof. Montano graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1988 and got his PhD in “Clinical Medicine” in 1994 at the same University. He spent several periods working as Visiting Scientist at the Univerity of Iowa, Iowa City, USA (1994-­1998). He is currently Full Professor of Internal Medicine, Chairman of the Department of Clinical and Community Sciences and Director of the Postgraduate Medical School in Emergency Medicine at the University of Milan, Milan, Italy. As his clinical appointments, he is Director of the Division of Internal Medicine, Immunology & Allergology at Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan. He became President Elect of the European Federation of Internal Medicine (EFIM) in 2016 and he is the current President of EFIM (2018-­2020).
