Michael Kreuter is Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Heidelberg,Germany. He is Head of the Centre for Interstitial and Rare Lung Diseases, Thoraxklinik, University of Heidelberg, which is a European Reference network (ERN) certified ILD center. Furthermore, he is a principal investigator of the German Centre for Lung research. Michael Kreuter is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonology and haematology-oncology. Following a clinical fellowship in Muenster, Germany and a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School Boston, USA, he is working at the Thoraxklinik since 2005. His clinical and scientific interest focuses on interstitial and rare lung diseases. He is conducting various research projects on comorbidities, epidemiology, biomarkers and diagnosis and therapy of interstitial lung diseases. He is also committed to educational programmes – in this regard he will host again the ERS ILD schools in 2021.
