Giancarlo Agnelli, MD, is Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Perugia, Italy, and Director of the Department of Internal and Cardiovascular Medicine and Stroke-Unit at the University Hospital in Perugia, Italy. Professor Agnelli received his medical degree from the University of Perugia. He was a Research and Clinical Fellow at the Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and at the Academic Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Professor Agnelli was a member of the Conference on Antithrombotic and Thrombolytic Treatment of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) 4th to 8th editions. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Thrombosis Research, Haemostasis, Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, Acta Cardiologica, and Trends in Medicine. Professor Agnelli also is a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Circulation, Blood, Cardiovascular Research, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He has authored more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
