Nataša Atanasova is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana (UL FGG) and Head of the Department of Environmental Civil Engineering. Her broad interests include environmental modelling (various techniques) of aquatic ecosystems, (waste)water treatment and management, development of reuse-oriented water systems and design and implementation of nature-based solutions for circular cities. She has led projects focused on development of water reuse systems in hotel facilities, urban neighborhoods and cities. Currently she is involved as a PI of the UL group in the H2020 EdiCitNet project and as a co-chair of the COST Action Circular Cities, both dealing with implementation of nature based solutions for circular management of resources (water-food-energy) in cities.

Session Description
The COST Action Circular City (https://circular-city.eu/) aims to establish a network testing the hypothesis that: “A circular flow system that implements nature based solutions for managing resources (water, nutrients, materials, energy) within the urban biosphere will lead to a resilient, sustainable and healthy urban environment”.The workshop presents the results of the Action to date and aims to discuss with stakeholders on beneficial and hindering factors for implementing nature-based solutions and circular economy in cities.
