Cristina Taddei (United Kingdom)

Imperial College London Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation, Department of Economics & Public Policy, Imperial College Business School
Cristina is an Imperial College Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics & Policy Innovation (CHEPI). At CHEPI, she is working on assessing the impact of policies to improve diet and treatment coverage on lowering non-HDL cholesterol in high- and low- and middle-income countries and investigating which future strategies would be most effective and cost-effective for tackling cardiovascular disease (CVD) burden. At Imperial College London, prior to joining CHEPI, Cristina has completed her PhD at the School of Public Health supported by a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship and an Imperial College President's PhD Scholarships. She has worked within the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC) investigating how blood lipids, and CVD deaths associated with them, have changed across the world over recent decades. Cristina is a physician by background and studied at the University of Florence, with two years at Pierre and Marie Curie University and at Paris Descartes University. During this time, she complemented her clinical education with broadened scientific training, in which she attended classes in philosophy, sociology and anthropology at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), and philosophy seminars and research activities at the Institut de la Pensée Contemporaine, Paris Diderot University. While undertaking her specialty training in public health, Cristina has worked with several public agencies in Italy and Bolivia, contributing to the development of public health strategies, health policies and health system reforms.
