Anna Wolska (United States of America)

Dr. Wolska is an exceptional scientist in the field of cardiovascular diseases (CVD). She received her MSc in molecular biology, with the highest honors from the University of Gdansk in Poland in 2009. During her master’s program she became a certified teacher of biology. Her main studies for MSc dissertation were prepared at the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Gdansk, one of the leading institutions in this field in Poland. That same year she was offered there a position as a PhD graduate student and she successfully defended her PhD thesis in medical biology in 2014, which was awarded with the highest honors. Moreover, she became a certified clinical chemist the same year. Since joining the laboratory of Dr. A. Remaley as a research fellow of NHLBI in 2015, Dr. Wolska has made outstanding progress in her main projects on drug development for hypertriglyceridemia that results were published in Science Translational Medicine and were highlighted on the cover page. Dr. Wolska has been also a successful researcher on projects related to cardiovascular epidemiology and recently published results on new sdLDL-C equation in Clinical Chemistry. She is the author on numerous publications in top journals, a recipient of various national and international scientific awards and an inventor on three U.S. patents. Science is certainly Dr. Wolska’s great passion.
