Session Description
Diagnostic accuracy in the detection of autoantibodies is key for laboratories to assure confidence that test results can be reliably included in the clinical diagnostic work-up. What are the best ways to limit bias in assessing the diagnostic accuracy of different tests and methods? How can this information be used in order to provide the utmost value for health care providers and patients while optimizing healthcare costs? This session discusses several systematic literature reviews/meta-analyses covering the diagnostic accuracy of antibody assays in systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARDs) and presents scenarios on how such knowledge may guide decisions for daily laboratory practice.
