Welcome to the ATTD 2023 Interactive Program
Session Description: Innovation of technology in type 1 diabetes has transformed the therapy and significantly improved both clinical and patient-related outcomes. This symposium, chaired by Dr. Jens Kröger and Prof. Ohad Cohen, will address the final frontiers for closed-loop insulin therapy in type 1 diabetes, being meal management and exercise. With closed-loop insulin therapy, users get the opportunity to go beyond carb counting, and focus back on healthy nutrition. Prof. Amir Tirosh will therefore present you a few studies that evaluated simplified meal announcement approaches with the MiniMed™ 780G advanced hybrid closed-loop system. Prof. Ohad Cohen, Sr. director medical affairs, Medtronic diabetes, will take a look into what real-world evidence shows us in terms of the burden of carb counting and how to handle insulin-to-carb ratios. The physical exercise aspect of closed-loop therapy will be presented by Prof. Kirsten Nørgaard who will share the results of the Steno 780G study. Lastly, Ali Dianaty will touch upon what the future could hold for meal management options and new technologies.
