Julia Ware (née Fuchs) is a clinical research fellow with the Artificial Pancreas Group under Prof Hovorka at the University of Cambridge, and paediatric registrar at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Ware‘s current PhD research focuses on the impact of closed-loop technology on glycaemic control and quality of life in children and young people with type 1 diabetes. Her special interest is in very young children with type 1 diabetes, and investigating how optimising new technologies might ease diabetes burden and improve outcomes in this challenging population.

Stuart A Weinzimer MD, is Professor of Pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine, Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Nursing, and Attending Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. He graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics, earned his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed pediatric residency and pediatric endocrinology fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has spent the last twenty years conducting patient-oriented research focused on the development, evaluation, and implementation of automated insulin delivery systems, the effects of dysglycemia on brain structure and function in children, and behavioral strategies to facilitate technology use and physical activity in youth with diabetes. He has over 250 peer-reviewed publications, reviews and book chapters. When he is not working, he may usually be found close to a piano.
Tatjana is the CEO and co-founder of Panda Insight - a start-up dedicated to personalized and contextual real-time health advice using AI. Tatjana oversees the business, financial, and legal aspects of Panda Insight. She leads an interdisciplinary team of data scientists and psychologists that she built to unlock the potential of physiological and psychological personal data for better health outcomes.
Tatjana and her team develop innovative apps leveraging machine learning and AI for people with diabetes. They just released PanDia: the first app that focuses on detecting the relationship between blood glucose levels and stress. The app was based on a feasibility study for diabetes management that Tatiana conducted together with the European Space Agency as a partner. In her work, Tatjana connects her M.Sc in Business Administration with her enthusiasm for health technologies and her passion for a yoga, mindfulness, and a healthy lifestyle to advance individualized health feedback, because a “one size fits all”-approach is just not good enough when it comes to your health.

George West completed his medical degree in 2021 at the age of 26 years from The University of Sheffield. He also has an undergraduate first-class degree in Biochemistry from Queen Mary, University of London. He is the creator of the hugely popular social media page ‘LearnDiabetes’ and is also a nationally recognised volunteer for Diabetes UK, currently appearing in their television advert. George is a newly qualified junior doctor working in the NHS in the U.K. George also lives with Type 1 Diabetes and is passionate about diabetes research.

Emma Wilmot is a Consultant Diabetologist with a specialist interest in Type 1 diabetes, diabetes technology and young adults with diabetes.
She is the founder of the ABCD Diabetes Technology Network UK. As chair she previously led the delivery of educational events for multidisciplinary diabetes teams and the development of a suite of national diabetes technology ‘best practice’ guides, in addition to online modules for people living with diabetes. Emma is an elected Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) committee member and DAFNE structured education executive board member. She is a member of the National Diabetes Audit Expert Reference Group and has also been involved in the #languagematters movement.
She was awarded the University of Leicester medal for excellent PhD performance in 2013 for her PhD “Type 2 diabetes in younger adults” and was appointed as an Honorary (consultant) Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham in 2021. She has an ongoing interest in diabetes research and is a principal investigator on a range of diabetes trials.

Anne Wolf, MS, RD is the Director of the Virginia Center for Diabetes
Prevention & Education at the University of Virginia and a Master Trainer for Lifestyle Coaches of the National Diabetes Prevention Program. Anne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and her Masters of Science from the Harvard School of Public Health. Anne has been involved in telehealth since 2008 when she worked with BMIQ, a secure platform the helps dietitians and medical practices optimize obesity care through using technology. She has been actively engaged within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics including serving on the Telenutrition Evidence Analysis Library panel, speaking about telehealth at multiple national meetings and had developed two CME courses regarding online learning and telehealth for diabetes and diabetes prevention.
